New Cyber Challenges Met Head-on

I wholeheartedly concur with Lieutenant Jackson. Participating in a new experience, especially one involving technology, is both exciting and a little frightening at the same time. What if I mess up? What if I say something ridiculous that embarasses my family and friends? What if I hit the wrong button and it crashes all of the computers at The Times? (I do know that I don't have that kind of power!!) Anyway, I am looking forward to the endless possibilities of conversing via cyberspace about issues that are of interest and confront us all. I will meet this new challenge of techno-conversation with the same enthusiasm and unabashed determination with which I have become well-known throughout my life--by diving in head first! The water certainly looks deep enough, and I know there are lifeguards around to rescue me if I get into trouble!
